WallDreams Promenade

A bucket of paint, a simple color... why stop there? The four walls surrounding us should be our personal landscape, our garden that we live and grow in. Whether we are motivated by garden greens, bold bright intense colors like vivid reds and royal blues, or calmed by pastel lavendars or blue cloudy skys....a combination of color, texture, and pattern can be achieved by HOW you apply that simple bucket of paint to that wall.

Did you know

The impact of color dominates and permeates our lives. Color effects our emotions, moods and mental faculties. The right choice of paint color, combined with texture, can make an ordinary room come alive. WallDreams recognizes the importance of color in our environments.

Faux finishing gives a home or business a unique sense of elegance only achieved by hand painting. WallDreams can create a unique atmosphere that accents your furniture, fabrics and flooring.

Colors N' Style - Fall/Winter 2002

What's hot this season in paint techniques? Combinations of flat and satin, or flat and semigloss paints in the same color, sponged or stamped onto the other. An example of how WallDreams used this technique was in a coffee shoppe...we painted flat black paint on one wall and stamped tea and coffee cups over the surface in semi-gloss black.

The hottest colors? Due to the South American influence on food, fashion and popular culture- oranges, orange-reds and reds-passionate and exotic colors, are giving homes a youthful, strong energy.

Dear Donna,

I am so tired of the off white walls in my bedroom and it's one little window, what can I do to perk up this boring lifeless bedroom? I really like the color peach, but I am not sure where to start.
Laura in Middleburg, Virginia

Hi Laura! After viewing the picture you sent us, the color of your comforter and flooring, I recommend using the striping technique in alternating peach and beige, with the peach color ragged on to the peach strip to add more pattern to the space. You also may want to consider using a custom made stencil from the floral pattern in your comforter and disperse that pattern with some hanging Faux greenery around the room- above the headboard, around the window, above the doors to add some needed interest and life. A deeper peach and some blue with the greenery would really make the pattern come alive.
